Hotel
We overnighted at Temauken hotel, which offers great breakfast and has very comfortable rooms – ideal to get your batteries up before you head off to the trekking and the relax and enjoy an amazing shower which feels like pure luxury.
Restaurants
When it comes to restaurants, we would highly recommend the ones that we have paid a visit, based upon TripAdvisor listings:
· Base Camp: very low-key, but cozy ambiance. Tried Pisco & cola for a drink and made our very own pizza from different ingredients on the menu – very tasteful
· La lenga: more up-scale. Exceptionally friendly service, we even got a small gift after dinner with our favorite “merken” spices. The calafate gin-tonic was amazing, as were the lamb sparer ribs with chocolate sauce (!) and the guanaco filet
· Artisan gelateria Aluen Patagonia: we had great ice cream in El Calafate, but this one may be even better… and they’re huge!
