There are actually two species commonly known as kudu, being the greater kudu and the lesser kudu. While the greater kudu is a woodland antelope found throughout eastern and southern Africa and is categorised as least-concern, the lesser kudu is a forest antelope found in East Africa and categorized as near threatened.
